St. Stephen Lutheran Church Foundation

About our Foundation:

Our Foundation is an entirely separate entity of St. Stephen Lutheran Church with its own bylaws and is governed by its own board separate from the Board of Directors. All funds and memorials donated to the Foundation are never spent and remain in the Foundation perpetually.

How does it work?

Currently the Foundation Funds are invested in Thrivent Mutual Funds. Each year the income that is earned from dividends and reinvested Capital Gains are available for withdrawl. The foundation board then makes these funds available to the ministries of St. Stephen congregation.  Based on predetermined guidelines and priorities of the church, the foundation board approves or denies the requests.

At the end of each year, all unused award funds are deposited into the Foundation principal and cannot be withdrawn for future awards.

Ways to Make a Legacy Contribution:

  • Make a donation to honor a birthday, anniversary, graduation or any other special event
  • Make a memorial to honor a friend or loved one with a designation to the Foundation
  • Make an over-and-above contribution to the Foundation
  • You can designate that in-lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to the Foundation
  • Update your will or last wishes to set aside a portion of your estate to the St. Stephen Foundation
  • You can open a life insurance policy with St. Stephen Lutheran Foundation designated as the owner and beneficiary

As the Foundation grows in principal, the earnings will continue to bless the ministry.
